RCIA stands for Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults. It is the Catholic Church’s way of initiating new members. RCIA is much more than a program. It is a learning and loving process in which conversion of the heart brings one to Jesus Christ. It is an answer to the Gospel invitation in Mathew 11:28-30: “
Come to me, all you who are weary and find life burdensome, and I will refresh you. Take my yoke upon your shoulders and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble of heart. Your souls will find rest, for my yoke is easy and my burden light.”
- Through learning, dialog, prayer and community to welcome new members into the Church.
- To help adult baptized Catholics who have not received First Reconciliation, First Communion and Confirmation complete their sacramental journey.
- Membership is open to adult non-Catholics seeking membership in the Church, baptized Catholics seeking First Eucharist and Confirmation as well.
The group meets Tuesday evenings in the Holy Family Library (see calendar below).
